Daily Devotion: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christian Kids Story 1
I've just bought this book to use for our family's daily devotion. As of this moment in my christian life, I am thirsting for revival as well as I am struggling and would want to rear my kids the christian way. Now, I know and feel that in order for me to do this, we should have family devotions on the word of God as well as attend church service every Sunday. This is what I'm aiming to do with my kid's spiritual life. I pray that God would help me rear them the right way, which is the christian way.
And here is the rest of it
So, we have started reading the first story in this book and the responses I received from my children is good. Christ when He was here on earth would use stories or specifically parables to teach people about His word as well as God's good character. This is the reason why this book caught my attention, aside from being famous. I feel that these stories would help me better relay to my kids christian values as well as christian insights.
My kids in this first story learned how to be kind and how their kindness can have a big impact on the person they're being kind to. I reiterated to them, as portrayed in the story, that they should be kind not only to people they want to be kind to but to everyone and that's not excluding anybody. They also learned that no matter how small or simple their gift is as long as it's from the heart it would matter much. Here's a quote I read from the book that I want to share here. It's by Martin Luther - The heart of the giver makes the gift dear and precious.
Please do include us in your prayers that we may continually grow spiritually as a family and may my children apply these spiritual truths in their lives. God Bless!
